We have just had a week in glorious Tuscany.  I did not have an DSLR with me, so did not get many wildlife piccies.
Highlights were Hoopoe, Bee-eaters, little owls and the smaller critters (it was certainly NOT a birding holiday!).
The hummingbird hawk moths were common around where we stayed.  Other interesting insects were swallow-tailed butterfly, glow-worms, carpenter bee, damselflies and a huge hawk moth.  I also found a scary looking spider :
