New Zealand's stunning Red-billed Gulls

THE Otago Peninsula has a large population of breeding Red-billed Gulls.  This species is common in NZ and seems to take the place of the UK's black-headed gulls.

The individuals below were at the blue penguin centre; they were pretty relaxed with us near them and on this sunny day were slightly feeling the heat - super birds:
