Super sealion on the Otago Peninsula, NZ

WE were really hoping to see sealions on the beach that I first visited nearly 20 years ago.  Although the huge males were not present this time, this female happily waddled onto the beach and had a sand bath, before settling down for a nap on the dry sand - luxury!

She did not appear to notice us and never gave us even as much as a glimpse, but we did keep a respectful distance of course.  She seemed to be full of character and very at ease.
